Shipping to and from the UK — no door surprises.
Since Brexit, parcels crossing between the UK and the EU go through customs. We handle that paperwork on every Matchdays order so the price you see at checkout is the final price — no extra fees on delivery, no parcel held at the border, no forms to fill in.
One price at checkout
Shipping, VAT and any import duty for your destination country are calculated at checkout and included in the total. The number you pay is the number you pay.
Customs paperwork — handled
We pre-file the customs declaration and pay the duty on your behalf before the parcel ships. Carriers (Sendcloud, DHL, Royal Mail) deliver door-to-door without stopping at customs.
Nothing to pay on delivery
No demand from the courier. No card-at-the-door. No SMS asking for extra fees. If a carrier tries to collect anything, refuse it and message us — we will refund any wrongly-paid amount.
Realistic timing
UK ↔ EU shipments take 3–7 business days vs 2–4 inside the same customs union. The estimate on each listing reflects this — no overpromised same-week delivery.
What you actually see
- Listings from a different customs zone get a “No hidden fees” chip next to the shipping estimate.
- Checkout breaks the total into: item price · shipping · duties & VAT — all paid in one transaction.
- The carrier delivers like a domestic parcel. You do not sign a customs form, do not pay the courier, do not visit a post office.
- If a courier does ask for anything, refuse and message us at /contact. We will reimburse and chase the carrier.
What you ship
- We generate the shipping label with the customs declaration already attached (HS code + value + content). Just print and drop off.
- You receive the full item price + the seller-side shipping allowance you set. Duties + VAT pass through us, not you.
- No need to register for EU VAT (IOSS), no extra tax filings — Matchdays acts as importer of record.
- Pack the item securely, write nothing else on the box. The pre-printed label is the only paperwork needed.
Common questions
Which routes count as cross-border?
▾
Which routes count as cross-border?
Any shipment that leaves the EU customs union. UK ↔ EU is the most common case (Brexit made the UK a third country). Switzerland, Norway, USA and others also count. Inside the EU (e.g. PL → DE) is a single market — no duties, no chip.
What if the value is below a duty threshold?

What if the value is below a duty threshold?
Even when duties are zero, import VAT usually still applies. We pre-pay both regardless so the buyer sees one number and no surprise bills.
Can I refuse the parcel?
▾
Can I refuse the parcel?
Yes — disputes flow exactly like a domestic order. Open a return via your order page within the return window; we cover the return shipping if the item didn't match the listing. Duty/VAT already paid is refunded by us when the carrier confirms re-import.
Why does shipping take longer than within-EU?
▾
Why does shipping take longer than within-EU?
Crossing customs adds 1–3 business days even with paperwork pre-filed. Carrier hubs scan + clear the declaration; this is normal. The estimate on every listing already includes this buffer — no extra wait.
What about countries outside the EU and UK?

What about countries outside the EU and UK?
The same All-inclusive promise applies for any route Sendcloud can pre-clear. If your destination is outside our DDP list, the listing will show 'shipping not available to your country' instead of an inflated estimate.
